We are a student-run organization at UC Davis, and our mission is to educate more undergrads on how to eat healthier, learn how to cook sustainable meals, as well as give opportunities for students to serve the Davis Community. Chef Santana Diaz

Director of Culinary Operations and Innovation & Executive Chef at UC Davis Health

Focus: Chef Santana grew up in Yuba City, a small-town agriculture community about 45 minutes north of Sacramento. There was always a focus on fresh produce and cooking side-by-side with his grandma and family. Santana oversees UC Davis Health's production kitchen- one of the largest in the region - serving more than 6,500 meals a day at three locations on the Sacramento campus. Santana hopes UC Davis Health's Food and Nutrition Services food operation becomes a model for the other health care facilities around the state, even around the country.

Dr. Debbie Fetter

Nutrition Professor of NUT 10 at UC Davis

Focus:  Dr. Fetter's passion lies with nutrition education and she aims to use her degree to help develop nutrition programs to teach about the tools for living a healthy lifestyle and make eating and physical activity enjoyable experiences. Her dissertation research focused on how we can use technology to enhance nutrition programs.

Lauren Cornell

 MS, RD
Registered Dietician through the Commission on Dietetic Registration for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics

Focus: With a family member’s successful battle against cancer through the help of medical nutrition therapy combined with her lifelong interest in science, Lauren aspired to pursue a career as a Registered Dietitian. She became fascinated with the remarkable healing properties of food and nutrition, and knew then that she wanted to help people in similar ways. Her enthusiasm for nutrition science, new research-based knowledge, and genuine love for people allows her work to be fun and enjoyable.

Lauren has been seen on Buzzfeed, the AP, and Voyage LA.

Emily Haeussler
RDN, LD

Registered Dietician Nutritionist

Focus: 
Emily has been helping people make peace with food, their body and themselves for over 25 years. Having experienced personal growth in this area, she finds this as her passion to pass this peaceful relationship on to others. She focuses on deep healing and creating an empowered sense of self through a compassionate balance of food and movement.

​Amethyst Ganaway
10-year restaurant and food industry professional

She has been published in The New York Times, Food and Wine, Eater, Plate Magazine, Serious Eats, The Post and Courier, The Spruce Eats, and more.

Focus:​  Amethyst began her career in restaurants as a server and cashier and now includes various corporate and fine dining management positions. Her resume includes restaurant, editorial, brand recipe development and food writing.

In 2020, she was awarded the Les Dames International Legacy Culinary Award and awaits an internship with America's Test Kitchen.
