I baked four of these mini pies for Thanksgiving and they were a hit. They are also customizable as you can decorate the pie crust however you like. In a large bowl, whisk to combine flour, salt, and sugar. 3. Cube shortening and add into flour mixture. Use pastry cutter to work shortening into flour. 4. Slowly pour in milk and continue using pastry cutter until a ball of dough is formed. 5. Split ball into four chunks (2 for bottom and 2 to cover). 6. Roll dough ball out into circle a little larger than pie tin. 7. Flip disc into pie tin and press against bottom and sides. 8. Peel apples and slice thinly. 9. Add sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon. Make sure apple slices are well coated. 10. Prick the bottom of the pie dough with a fork. 11. Fill tin with the apples forming a slight mound in center. 12. Place second disc on top of apple filling. 13. Crimp edges together to form a seal. 14. Cut evenly spaced vents in the top with a knife. 15. Brush almond milk and sprinkle brown sugar on top of pie (optional). 16. Bake for 60 minutes. 17. Let cool before serving. Cost
